I'm detailing this sucker right now and I have no idea how to bring the damn softop down. What special instructions are there? And no the manual isn't in the car or else I wouldn't need to ask

Actually figured it out.
Stupid twist mechanism. I think it's better than you typical damn pull down or push up latch mechanism that you see.

lol, my parents just got an MZ4 and I was trying to get the top down and couldn't figure out what was going on, apparently, there is this little safety handle that was pulled, disabling the roof from coming down, once I found that(outside in the dark, in the trunk....), it was all good, but the owner's manual made no mention of it.

Guess it was not a power top. On the TT the power top button is in the center toward the back. Basically where you elbow would land
